John Chuckman's site has some really good photo's of Chicago from all eras including more of the South Shore neighborhood.
Rainbow Beach Chicago,IL.
This film footage is from the Warren Thompson collection at The Chicago Film Archives.
It's originally a 30 minute silent 16 MM shot between 1940-1983 by "amateur" Warren Thompson. All the seasons and many years are covered in this self described "love letter" to his city. The soundtrack from the British band Renaissance is from their album -A Song For All Seasons- and features Renaissance lead vocalist Annie Haslam.
The Blue Cheer's song A Peaceful Mind is used once briefly for a short transition.
Photos at the ending credits are of Chicago's South Shore Rainbow Beach gardens flower beds taken by John Chuckman in 1968.
Both the film and the music were impressive separately, edited together I thought they'd be complimentary. The film is best viewed using an expanded screen size in full HD. Running time 35 minutes.
